Fully Automatic Paintball Markers: My Views On Responsible Use
                                By Nate F

Full Auto guns are a huge controversy right now.  People complain because
they get shot more than once, and other silly complaints like that.  But an
old paintballer told me that it was pretty similar when semi-autos first
showed up.
Well, full autos, I'll abbreviate FA.  (because I'm lazy)  Well FAs are
sometimes a benefit, and sometimes a trouble.  Primarily, they are trouble if
they are not being used by your team.  :-)          Actually some less
skilled players just buy one and think that if they can put 15 paintball
through their gun, in one second, then they'll automatically be the best.
They're wrong.
Most of the time a poorly skilled p-baller with an FA, will just spend
more money on paint than the good player with a semi.  A bad p-baller with an
FA just looks bad and gets on peoples' nerves.
My view is that FAs require more skill, and brain power than semis.  An
efficient player with their full auto will know when to hold fire,  when to
open up, and when to hide.
Hide????  Hide you ask.  Why would anyone with a  kick @$$ FA hide.
Because they are smart is the answer.  A FA gunner will hide.  So he can jump
out and ambush the people who think they are sneaking up on your
team.
What I'm trying to say, is borrow your sniper friends ghille suit,  and
where it when you use an FA.
FA gunners need to know military tactics for SAWs and light machine guns.
They need to know about fire lanes, and ambushes.  A good FA gunner will
wait, hiding in a defensive position,  with his (or her) semi auto armed
buddies.  And then pop out when the other guys are about thirty feet away.
FAs also make outstanding offensive weapons. It's very hard to hold a
semi auto steady during rapid fire.  I'm sure you all know that.  But you can
run, while giving  accurate suppressive fire with your nice little FA marker.
So, in closing, a good FA gunner should be someone with a little self
control.  Just a short burst from a full auto will scare your average
p-baller to death.  My field doesn't allow FAs, but one day, this guys gun
malfunctioned and suddenly zipped out in full auto.  It near scared me to
death.  A good FA gunner will know ambush tactics, and pick defensive
locations with good fire lanes, use their marker as a physcological weapon,
and have a light trigger finger.  Because FAs take much more skill than any
semi.
SO EVERYBODY PLAY SAFE.  AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DON'T USE A GUN IN FA
MODE WHEN YOU'RE LESS THAN 20 FEET AWAY FROM YOUR TARGET!
